Did Pamyu Pamyu throw shade at idols?!

Everybody knows about the AKB48 scandal, where Minami Minegishi got named, shamed, demoted, publicly humiliated and was guilt tripped so badly into thinking she'd made the biggest mistake of her life, that she felt the need to shave her head as a sign of contrition for having done wrong. It didn't stop there however, as she felt she needed to show how sorrier she was by uploading a video to YouTube sporting her new hair cut, crying into the camera and apologizing for letting her boyfriend lick it 'n' stick it good until the morning. There's no point in me doing a post on this whole debacle now as it's old news. But what I will say is that that it was a complete mess and just shows how messed up both the J-Pop industry can be from the inside and also within the fandom; which stems from deep underlying social issues within Japan.

ANYWHO!!

Our favourite Japanese hot mess Kyary Pussy Pamyu spoke up about the latest scandal. And I think Pussy Pamyu threw shade at some idols. Like...left bitches in a blackout.
In the Japanese idol world, they are very strict about relationships. It's like in return for male fans' support, idols keep out of relationships and love, devoting themselves to their jobs as idols. In my opinion, and idol's job is to suck up to men and do what they can to get their attention. What I do though is something guys will never love. What I'm doing is more like an artist than an idol.
I'm not sure how legit this translation is. Some of what Pamyu 'says' sounds harsher than what I would imagine Pamyu saying in actuality. I'm going to chalk this up to an iffy translation. But what we can take away from this is that Pamyu has an objective view of idols and that she has no desire to be one and that she doesn't see herself that way.

This leaves me feeling happy for Pamyu, that she's up for a late night creep and let a homie give her the ninjari bang bang on a Fliday night.

  1. Iffy translation or not, I get the gist, and she is 100% correct! I don't like the idea that idols are basically a full-time job with no off-hours, but those girls wanted to be a part of it. It's the base they wanted to becoming a star! While Kyary makes out like a pro and becomes a bonafide artist without having to resort to being an idol! And all before turning 18, BTW!

It's really sad what happened to Minami, but (forgive me, myself, when I say this) she had it coming! She should've known! I mean, how hard have the good fallen and yet she still wants to be a part of that group? That's disheartening and sad, but this was all on her. I'm not saying that what she did and what happened to her was right, but she should've been more careful while she was still a part of AKB48.

  2. Pamyu wishes she was an Idol. That would be an upgrade to what she is now...... whatever that is.

I know Pamyu be in the shadows with countless amounts of shade from the slums to sling considering she won't ever have to worry about dodging a spotlight, but girl needs to keep that for herself since all these idols she is taking down are the ones getting their shine on all around her and I know it stings her eyes.

    1. Kyary for some reason hogs that spotlight, I don't know what you're talking about.

She's CONSTANTLY promoting really high end/visible products/brands even though her music sells near shit.

I don't get all these Japanese girls trying to be idols when nobody knows more than like two girls from the 7,856 members of AKB48. Well, other than weird sweaty middle aged men who know all their names and cup sizes.

  5. Kyary ftw over those idol wankers.
Though the song should be renamed Ninja no Gang-bang.

  6. I totally agree with this chick. I do think of her as an artist although I'm not into her. Where will it end? When one of them commits suicide over this nonsense. Is it better to date and be a normal teenager than be fantasies for men who are lusting after children pretty much? Oh yeah that's so wholesome. It's sickening.
