Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion set the Internet ablaze last night with the release of their new song "WAP" and with it, a music video, which was a big ass production of a proportion we've not really seen for a minute in the West. But there was definitely some social distance compliance and green screenery going on at parts, but it was cleverly utilised and edited.
Disclaimer: This video features Kylie Jenner. I don't know why she was featured in this video. There are a million other Black women who could have featured instead. I'mma just chalk it up to Cardi wanting the additional YouTube hits and the chatter that her appearance would garner, as it's certainly done that on Twitter.
I like me a ratchet, nasty anthem. I am very much here for women showing as much ass and titty as they want, and being all kinds of explicit about the kind of sex they want. Cardi and Megan are both grown women. And men have been out here since flint and chalk on cave walls talking about all the hoes they gon' fuck, the drugs they gon' sell and the people they gon' shoot.
It's also great to see a big, fun, colourful Rap music video. It reminds me of old school Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott and Lil' Kim in the late 90s, early 2000s, which for me was one of the boldest and most fun eras of Rap and Hip-Hop visually. Missy is one of the few who has continued to give us as such. Intermittently and sparingly, but still. She gives them.
I would also like to submit a proposal for a Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie, starring Megan The Stallion as Willy Wonka.
If any studios would like to get in-touch, we can discuss details in my DMs.
