Two of Korea's better idol groups performed their latest singles on Music bank. 2PM performed "Heartbeat" in suits with see through mesh shirts (sounds gay on paper, but some how 2PM manage to pull it off). And Brown eyed girls' performed "S.I.G.N", looked pretty fed up and tired as they did so - but still hot. What is going on? Is there something in Seoul's water?! Performances after the jump.
I don't know what it is about 2PM's performances of "Heartbeat", but they feel like they're lacking that vibrant energy they usually have. Could it be that the charismatic Jay brought something to the groups' stage performances that the other members fed off of? It is possible. But even without Jay these guys are capable of better. MUCH better.
It's nice to see other members getting some shine. Junho is usually like wallpaper. But he made this performance. His vocals were really strong and he had a presence to him that I don't think the other members had. And then to have him finish the song instead of Wooyoung just sealed the deal.
As with 2PM's performance something was lacking. Maybe I'm so accustomed to the awesomeness of their "Abracadabra" performances that anything the girls do that doesn't involve hip sings is lost on me. But the girls' seemed a little sedate and distant with this performance. I know the song is rather sombre, but a lil' snap, crackle 'n pop wouldn't have hurt. Their performance of it last week on Music core was much better.
