Freida kicks Cheryl to the curb

L'Oreal seemed to have scrapped those Cheryl Cole TV commercials with the quickness. Capitalizing on her X-Factor and solo career fame was all when and good. But nobody wanted to listen to that broad open her mouth and spout some dodgy nonsense about her hair having "it's mawjaw back". L'Oreal went right back to that casting board and brought in Slumdog millionaire stunner Freida Pinto to bring that class and elegance Cheryl failed to.

More than Cheryl getting kicked to the curb (literally, because her ads now only seem to feature in print at bus stops), I think it's great L'Oreal went with a Mumbai native for their latest TV commercial. There aren't nearly enough people of colour on TV and this is a really good look. Plus it makes sense. Women in India have good ass hair. They just roll out of bed, hit that heat and their shit just shimmers 'n shines and don't frizz for crap. Go Freida! Rep' it for India and get that money.

  1. This sounds like it was dubbed over like they shoulda done with Cheryl. I'm a Brit but I had to rewind and switch on the subtitles when I watched Cheryl's for the 1st time.

Freida looks great and you're right a woman of colour working her real hair (ahem Beyonce) to sell a high end brand is always great to see. It's probably not the best thing for Cheryl Cole fans or L'Oreal stockholders to see her selling 'healthy' when we all know she's lying in hospital wishing she'd taken the time to catch a few vaccinations before her trip.

Okay, I laughed a little. I know I'm as wrong as hell *lol*.

L'Oreal seem to have gone full on with Cheryl on their print ads though, because I'm seeing them at bus stops everywhere now.

As for Cheryl's L'Oreal TV commercial; I was surprised 'the L'Oreal folk' let her speak, and I just shook my head the second she opened her mouth to do so. Her voice just struck down the slickness of the commercial. Struck it down and left it in pieces.
