A look at Crystal Kay's "Superman"

Crystal Kay gives us a sneak peek at her "Superman" video, which see's her work a number of looks multitude of wigs. Possibly as a back up in case one of them gets snatched from one of those Perfume bitches. She also rocks a number of different looks, drawing inspiration 90's Janet, Leeloo from The fifth element , some random ho in some trampy knitted poncho from Waterworld and even Beyoncé from her "Run the world (Hoes)" video. But of course, Crystal rocks the friend out blonde wig and metallic dress with much more elegance and style. We all know how Beyoncé be tacky-ing up everything these days *side eyes the "Party" music video*

I love Crystal Kay. But the ho don't move good. A shame, because she has some mad flexibility (she can do the splits) and her body is on point (watch "Flash" please).

Crystal's music videos are always forgettable, cheap budget looking ass messes. So I'm not expecting much from this. But the song sounds great. and with it's amazing chart jump from it's debut position at #40 all the way up to #7 on the Japan hot 100, "Superman" has every chance of being a hit.

  1. She cant dance all that great, but it looks like she's made a DRASTIC improvement from when she was doing those dusty ass shuffles/biting off Mj's thriller in namida no saki ni. I will reserve judgement until I see the full video, but it looks no worse than any of her past videos, and the dance routine looks as though it might be able to be taken seriously.

  2. omg are you SERIOUS?! i know she's not an amazing dancer but i think for her this is such an improvement and the video looks like it could be her best yet.
So glad she's moved to UMJ it just shows how shit Sony were that after such a short time with a new label she's getting more exposure, better videos and music and charting higher again. When the video drops this will be a hit i think :D go CK!

  3. I think her dancing has also improved A LOT. The vid looks pretty good to me, even for a short clip. Her moves look more fluid and she seems more comfortable too.

  5. no lie, the dancing looks legit. i'm LOVING that 90's janet scene...it's got me very excited. i believe i spotted rino nakasone (dance choreographer and former janet dancer for years) in the background, so if she did the choreo, the vibe should be spot on.

i've never really been about crystal, but this is certainly making me think twice...

    LOL.

  10. @Beruda LOL I was a little surprised at J's reaction too. This video does look like an improvement for her in many respects. Although the teaser does make it seem as though it got no budget with how cheap some scenes look. Also, J you never comment on Beni's lack of dancing ability. She can't move either in my opinion. I think that as of late C-kay has been moving better than her.

  11. Crystal Kay can't dance and always has terrible videos? Have you seen the video for Kirakuni? The girl can move!

I only hate how derivative she tends to be. Her current haristyle is obviously an interpretation of the style Rihanna was wearing a while back, and she always draws from Janet Jackson in her videos and style.

  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lI9QwfwzWeY Full PV here, have fun guys. The director could've did so much with this video but apparently they went somewhere else. Still I like the song cause its fun and I haven't seen CK in ages. So I'm just glad she's back.
