Music video: Leikeli47 sells a whole entire mood with "No reload" | Random J Pop

Whilst everybody is going on about Cardi and Nicki. I'm over here chillin' with Leikeli47. I have spent many minutes at home making my booty pop all sorts of ways (literally two ways, 'cos chile, these hips ain't what they used to be) to her debut album Wash & set which flew under the radar. So it was nice to see Leikeli47 drop a follow up and really lean into the different facets of her style and delivery with it.

"No reload" is a whole mood and sound advice. Because we've all been in situations where people have tried us at one time, then tried to come back around expecting a second chance. Your ex, somebody at work, rude staff on Rodeo drive who refused to serve you because you turned up in a blue tie dye mini skirt and thigh high boots.

Yep. We all been there.

Leikeli47 has had her moments here and there, with some of her music getting traction on the music blawgs and also poppin' off due to features in TV shows ("Attitude" featured in the second season of Insecure and "Tic Boom" featured in Grown-ish). But she's still not as big as I feel she deserves to be, which is the story of my life when it comes to many of the artists that I like.

There are so many great female rappers out here right now, but the mainstream and the chart chasers only seem to have eyes and ears for Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. Meanwhile the likes of Tierra Whack, Noname, Leikeli47 (just to name a select few) are putting out great music and also serving visuals. I've put Azaelia Banks in the corner. She's put out some great music, but she's problematic as all hell and seems steadfast in ruining her career and burning all of her bags instead of securing them.
