The Grammy award winning JoJo plays Elle's Song association and now I'mma need a cover album | Random J Pop

Today in 'Things that shoulda already happened, but have finally happened years later', JoJo has finally won a Grammy! It's as a featured artist on PJ Morton's "Say so", which some may say 'Eh. Technically it's not her own'. But we gon' take it. JoJo has won a Grammy. JoJo deserved to win a Grammy by herself for "Leave (Get Out)", "Too Little Too Late", The High Road and her mixtapes. But we know JoJo's label back then weren't shit. And that despite the Grammys being seen as one of the check boxes of musical excellence to tick off, the team behind that academy ain't shit neither.

But congratulations to PJ Morton and JoJo for their win. Much deserved. Hopefully this opens doors for JoJo and paves the road to her upcoming album release with the success and attention both it and she deserves.

To capitalise on the win, Elle magazine had JoJo on their popular YouTube series Song association. A game where an artist is given a word and they have a time limit in which to sing a song with that word in its title.

Obviously with this being JoJo, she sings the shit out of every song and even sings a few others for which no words were even associated.

JoJo really loves music. She lights up when she talks about songs and artists that she loves. And the admiration and respect she has for other artists is refreshing at a time in music where so many of these younger artists love to be out here on social media being messy and disrespectful. What happened to JoJo early in her career wasn't deserved, but it humbled her in a way that some of these girls out here with their stank attitudes need to be. Don't nothing humble an artist like a flop album and a trash recording contract that prevents them releasing music.

Anyway.

I think I want a covers album from JoJo. She could sing pages from the Merriam-Webster website and I'd cop.
