Avex upload full concerts to their YouTube channel. Miss Corona may or may not be involved.

Today in 'Things Japan be doing', Avex have begun uploading full concerts to YouTube. Why? Word is that Miss Corona is the reason why. With Miss Corona forcing expos, festivals and large scale shows to be postponed or cancelled outright, Avex have started to upload selected concerts to their official YouTube channel as a means to keep their followers entertained in the midst of cancellations. Avex will continue to do this throughout March, and keep the videos available for global viewing until March 31st. It's actually a really cool idea. There's no particular rhyme or reason behind which shows are being shared from what I can see. Most of them are old ass shows, possibly as not to fuck up sales of more recent concert tours of which DVD's and Blu-Ray's are still in print. But a couple are from as recent as 2018 and 2019.

Ayumi Hamasaki, J Soul Brothers, Ai Otsuka, E-girls, AAA and Tokyo Girls' Style are some of the artists who have a tour live on the channel at the moment.

Some live shows will be available exclusively on Avex's artists own channels, such as Kumi Koda, whose Universe tour is current live on her channel but is nowhere to be found on Avex's. So if you're Avex faves' tour doesn't show up on the Avex channel, then check their own channel. It may just be there.

The real tea here is if any of Namie Amuro's tours will be made available and I'm sure we all know the answer to that.

Ain't no fucking way. Namie's concert Blu-Rays still be selling. But it would be great to see at least one old concert or one of her more recent shows, even if it's just for a day. If Avex want those YouTube views and that subscriber count to jump, they'd do it. But I imagine they'll probably hold Namie's shit back for special occasions tied to her and her alone, such as release anniversaries and such. Or maybe Namie had her people shut down any chance of Avex doing anything altogether.

We shall see...
