Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland has released a new song and a new video to go along with it, titled "Coffee". The song is not about her skin complexion, nor is it about the famous caffeinated beverage. It's about fucking.

Kelly is no stranger to songs about fucking. After she did her cute little Pop thing with Simply Deep, Kelly was all about songs about the nasty. "Like This", "Work", "Motivation", "Kisses Down Low", "Down For Whatever".

For months leading up to the release of the song Kelly has been doing Q and A's and Instagram lives in which she calls 'Coffee with Kelly' where she has been very candid and open about sex with her fans. So this song is right on brand.

Kelly been a freak.

In Kelly's own words...

"To me, Coffee is about embracing your individuality, sexuality, or imperfections. Not comparing yourself to others. We need to celebrate ourselves more often - with this song, I want you to have yourself in mind. I want to remind women all over to reignite their magic!"

The music video was beautifully shot and Kelly looks amazing. Looks can of course be deceiving, but if I were to take this video at face value, Kelly is happy and in a really good place in her life right now, where she feels completely confident in herself. She said 'I'mma give them all this body and these titties too'. I bet that the DC-3 group chat was blowing up when this video dropped.

The song itself is real nice. Nothing stands out about it, but that doesn't make it bad. It feels like the kind of song that you'd hear and like, but probably wouldn't remember not long after unless you kept hearing it. And with the song clocking in at 2 and half minutes, it literally comes and goes. (Pun kidna intended). It reminds me a lot of Jhené Aiko, who had nothing whatsoever to do with this song. Another singer did however; Syd from The Internet co-wrote it.

Over the past couple of years we've gotten the songs "Kelly", "Crown" and now "Coffee", but no word on a new album. Kelly Rowland's albums always end up rolling out a mess, with singles drip fed over the course of years, then a bunch of delays, followed up the album releasing on a whimper.

I can't say that I'm anticipating a new album from Kelly, but I'd check it out for sure. I have a soft spot for her and I still adore her Ms. Kelly album, which never got the love and recognition that is deserved.
