CL reminds us all that she is still K-Pop's baddest bitch, with "Spicy" | Random J Pop

CL is on the cusp of releasing her long awaited debut album Alpha. Yes. You read correctly. Debut.

Y'all. This bitch has been in the game since 2007. Debuted as part of 2NE1 in 2009. Released her first solo single in 2013. "Hello Bitches" came out in 2018. 2NE1 disbanded in 2016. And only in 2021 are we getting a debut album.

A madness.

Anyway. Here's "Spicy", which gives everything CL's last couple of singles didn't give. The ONLY thing wrong with this song is the second verse. It's really bad. Name dropping Asian food in crusty-ass bars is a no-no. It's a continual go-to for Asian rappers and I'mma need to see it stop.

The way this woman carries her damn self. There has not been a single bitch in K-Pop since CL who can match CL. And don't tell me nothing about no Blackpink. Lalisa is a bad bitch, but she is not a CL level bad bitch. CL is Lalisa's bad bitch playbook. And it's not just that CL is a bad bitch in the world of K-Pop, but just in general. She has that it factor in spades that not every star has or can ever have.

There are many things in this world that I will never understand. And one of those things is how YG Entertainment could have somebody as talented, multi-faceted and marketable as CL in their roster and just play her so bad that she ended up leaving. The lesson here? If you know your own worth, then don't settle for less. And if you know you've got a good thing, then don't get complacent.

"Spicy" is the first song to be released from CL's upcoming debut album Alpha. A second single will drop in September, with the album then dropping in October.
