Kumi Koda drops faux-hood nonsense for her Summer single "Doo-Bee-Doo-Bop"

Kumi Koda has another song and music video out. As has become a theme with Kumi Koda as of late, we get a cute song flanked by some faux-hood-foolery. I don't know when somebody in her management team is going to tell her that this shit doesn't fly and nobody wants it. But here we are. Still getting it.

"Doo-Bee-Doo-Bop" is not a bop, and is actual doo-doo. So the song title is at least relevant and sums it up.

Avex are still on their bullshit with not allowing YouTube videos to be shared. So you'll need to watch the video for "Doo-Bee-Doo-Bop" over at YouTube. Avex really are asking folk to just download their YouTube videos and upload them on their own sites.

The looks are trash. The song is trash. The choreography is trash. It's all trash.

Kumi Koda keeps pulling this dual persona vibe that she's officiated since W Face, and it's tired as all hell. The fact this woman in 20 years into her career and can't just settle on who she is as an artist and consolidate them is beyond ridiculous.

And one of these days we're going to have to have a discussion about how Kumi Koda and cultural appropriation. On her Instagram she referred to the look in the "Doo-Bee-Doo-Bop" video as 'L.A girl' because of the bandanas, when it's just Blackness. She doesn't look like she's paying homage. She doesn't look fly. She doesn't look good. She looks like a whole caricature. And her dancers look even worse. It was tired when she first started doing it and it's beyond tired now in 2021. But as is the way of Kumi Koda, a bitch doesn't learn nor evolve.
