I see the vision and I like that. But I am not feeling the execution. I don’t like Jessie’s pose. And I don’t like how she’s styled.
A big part of Jessie’s image has always been her hair. But her hair isn’t really the main event the way it was on the album covers for Devotion, That! Feels Good!, and even What’s Your Pleasure?.
And whilst I get why that giant tulle skirt she’s wearing was chosen (it kinda looks like flowers, I guess), it being just one block of colour with no real shape is kinda distracting. To such a point that my eye is drawn to it, and it’s just not a cool enough skirt to be drawing attention. Having Jessie a wear a skirt made up of flowers instead of just being surrounded by flowers could have been one solution. Or having Jessie wear a skirt of peacock feathers or any type of feathers could have been another solution. The gay who has been styling Margot Robbie for her Wuthering Heights press tour shoulda styled this.
I also think Jessie’s pose is too flat. It doesn’t look regal or striking enough. And this is surprising to me, given that Benjamin Jonsson who some may know as Benjamin Milan — the UK father of the House of Milan — was the movement director for this shoot.
The single artwork for “I Could Get Used to This” is giving me more of what I wish the album cover gave. I mean…

Superbloom also has an alternate cover, which I think is far better than the main one.
