As with her previous _genic videos, Namie's shoe game is looking brand new. We have yet to see her rock a pair of her trademark tired ass thigh high boots. But I'm sure they'll make an appearance in the "Fashionista" or "Golden touch" videos.
"Anything" is a really nice ballad and is a huge upgrade from Feel's
"Anything" has really nice message behind it and an equally beautiful video, in which not only does Namie look gorgeous, but the entire supporting cast spans a range of races and ages - which in conjunction with the song message, makes it very appropriate in light of what is happening around the world concerning human rights and inequality between genders and races.
Namie's life and career has not been without adversity. In the wake of a divorce and being a single mother (two things which women are continually chastised for in Japan) Namie continued to maintain a sustainable level of popularity during a period when many were certain she would not be able to. When her mother was murdered at the height of her career, many were expecting her to retire and implode over the loss, but she kept on going. There was nothing alluding to any of Namie's personal struggles in this video (unless her breaking out of her glass box was the metaphor for this) but it's nice to hear Namie sing a song such as this because she's living proof of the message behind it.
Get it Namie.
This black&gold combo would suit a Golden Touch music video better than Stranger, but I'll take what I can get.

and sadly people will eat this shit up..
TLC's "Unpretty"
ReplyDeleteThis song sounds awful. Embarrassingly cheesy and basic. The writer should be ashamed.
well she gone and done it making Alive 2.0 for Golden Touch no Amuro to be seen and Fashionista they are back those boots

Sighs and this is my jam

Yeah anything is awful.
ReplyDeletethis is great... for a lyric video. Now, as a fully fledged music video, this is A FUCKING JOKE. Golden Touch deserved better. -__-
ReplyDeleteok, I just realised that if we touch that heart thing in the middle of the screen the music video becomes interactive, and it's like we have the golden touch she's talking about. I forgive you, Namie.
ReplyDeleteAre you guys fucking kidding me?? Golden Touch PV its amazing!! very cool and original, I love it.
ReplyDeleteyea it is cute but I love Golden touch so much I was hoping for a lil more
ReplyDeleteNice to know I wasn't imagining Britney giving a fuck in this video
ReplyDeleteLyrically yes, but the melody and vocals are some of her best in recent times, even if neither are necessarily revolutionary; it is very much an echo of those other key Stargate-productions that are heavily, ominous guitar driven called "Irreplaceable" and "Without You" by Queen Bey and Chris Brown.
ReplyDeleteWe should not forget there were like five years where she was working with Dallas Austin so...
ReplyDeleteWelp the golden touch PV is getting Namie the most attention ironically. Can I just say that Namie stans are getting out of hand. I've been seeing people talk about Namie deserving more credit for the golden touch PV, and I'm confused as to why they feel this way. She took no part in the making of this video and hired Party Ny to create it for her. Her stans need to get over the fact that she's just a performer, she's not an artist. She doesn't write her songs, produce them, vocally arrange them, and she doesn't choreograph her videos nor direct them. She needs her team just as much as they need her.
ReplyDelete*yawn*
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but this song is a bore and basic like vanilla ice cream. This along with "Birthday" are my least favorite songs from the album. The rest of the album sounds great though.
And shout out to the insufferable Namie stans getting riled up over their Pedestrian Queen not getting enough credit for her "work". Girl bye. Namie is no Shiina Ringo. The day Namie's name appears throughout her album booklets for something besides main and backing vocals is the day the world will give her credit where it's due. Until then stay delusional.
This pv is sooooo boredss
ReplyDeleteOn a good note, shes been top 10 on the recochoku for 2 consecutive weeks. And it looks like she's gonna have her highest charting single on the oricon, in about 5 years, so things are looking up for CK.
ReplyDeleteAll shade aside, I am enjoying this album. I can always rely on Namie to give me some bangers for the summer. Golden Touch is a jam, and If Namie ever wanted to have a crossover hit What I did for love is it. The English is understandable, she isnt auto tuned to hell, and she stays within her range and doesn't try to pinch out paper thin high notes. Also, hatsune miku delivered better vocals and English on be who I want to be and she's a vocaloid.
ReplyDeleteLOL! And B Whoever da fuq I Want 2 B happens to be my favorite track.
ReplyDeleteStans are dying at it though.
Lol I like Be who I want 2 be as well, and I never agree with stans. They're comlplaining about the autotune like Half of Namie's songs don't sound completely different in a live setting. We all know she be dropping her songs like two octaves sounding like a grown ass man and shit.
ReplyDeleteGIVE MY MOTHER MY ASHES! TELL HER IT WAS QUICK AND THAT I FELT NOTHING! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!
ReplyDeleteHer stans never acknowledge me when I comment on how all her songs up pitch her vocals to make her sound like a woman. She be sounding like Barry White on stage for real.
Lmfaoo seriously though her peak notes are legit those of a baritone.
ReplyDeleteI was always baffled as to why it sounded like four different singers hijacked her albums. I honestly thought Kana Nishino sang "Supernatural Love" on FEEL because there is no way on earth Namie could of hit those high notes after being a smoker for so many years.
ReplyDeleteI can't get over the shade in this comments section.I'm no fanatic, but I do like Namie Amuro. There are obvious differences between her studio and live abilities, but the Kana Nishino reference ??? Lol.
ReplyDeleteYeah her vocals are def pitched up in Supernatural Love. Was Namie really a smoker? I've heard that several times, but I haven't seen any proof.
ReplyDeleteNamie still smokes she just tries to be discrete about it which I respect.
ReplyDeleteJapanese fans and paparazzi have posted pics of her and other celebs smoking/drinking in public all over blogs, forums, etc.
I personally could care less if celebs smoke as long as they don't do it around me. lmao
The Kana reference was me merely jokingly noting how Namie's autotuned vocals were similar to those of a natural higher pitched singer like Kana or Ai Otsuka for instance. She was the first person to pop into my head while typing so she ended up being my example. lol!
ReplyDeleteIf you're doing that I will make a pentagram with all her throwback charting singles and features, while playing a loop of her scenes from Hidarime Tantei Eye and drinking some Tully's Barista Black
ReplyDeleteShe she smokes. There have been pictures. Underneath that make up, her skin shows years of tobacco. She be looking dreadful.
ReplyDeleteUtada is back working on a New Album AND SHE HAS A NEW BABY BOY YA'LL.
ReplyDelete*Shaking&Crying*

Not really her music is okay, but kind of stinks, she repeats the same old lines, Mondai Girl, twenty four seven. What's a man doing listening to such a girly song? LOL! Although you might be a child, so i'll let it pass.
ReplyDeleteWhy's a ''fan'', who's dedicated his/her username to Kyary, hating on her, while writing her name even wrong? LOL! Since you don't have a profile picture at all I think I know who the real child is, but I'll let it pass as well. Bye.
ReplyDeletedid they mispell Monologue? Anyway, glad to see the preview!
