Music video: Namie Amuro - Anything

Music video: Namie Amuro - Anything | Random J Pop

As with her previous _genic videos, Namie's shoe game is looking brand new. We have yet to see her rock a pair of her trademark tired ass thigh high boots. But I'm sure they'll make an appearance in the "Fashionista" or "Golden touch" videos.

"Anything" is a really nice ballad and is a huge upgrade from Feel's "Remmyrechugoor" "Let me let you go". Not just in terms of her Engrish being much better, but just the song in general.

"Anything" has really nice message behind it and an equally beautiful video, in which not only does Namie look gorgeous, but the entire supporting cast spans a range of races and ages - which in conjunction with the song message, makes it very appropriate in light of what is happening around the world concerning human rights and inequality between genders and races.

Namie's life and career has not been without adversity. In the wake of a divorce and being a single mother (two things which women are continually chastised for in Japan) Namie continued to maintain a sustainable level of popularity during a period when many were certain she would not be able to. When her mother was murdered at the height of her career, many were expecting her to retire and implode over the loss, but she kept on going. There was nothing alluding to any of Namie's personal struggles in this video (unless her breaking out of her glass box was the metaphor for this) but it's nice to hear Namie sing a song such as this because she's living proof of the message behind it.

Get it Namie.
