Mariya Takeuchi's "Plastic love" finally gets a music video after 35 years, but only a short version tho

Music video: Mariya Takeuchi - Plastic love | Random J Pop

So, I'm pretty sure we all know of the city pop classic that is Mariya Takeuchi's "Plastic love". If not, I will not hold it against your living-under-a-rock-ass. But it is a full bop. And I'm not trying to hear anybody talk 'bout how it's overated and overplayed. It still a classic.

The crazy thing with "Plastic love" is that it became popular as a result of YouTube's recommendation algorithm, but nobody knows how it ended up showing in everybody's recommendations. The song has managed to become somewhat of an Internet and cult sensation as a result, despite the song never being a proper single and having no official music video. Until now...

Warner music Japan releasing a short version of a music video on YouTube for a 30 year old song that got mad popular because of YouTube is the most Japanese thing ever.

Now all we need to do is wait another 35 years until they make "Plastic love" available for streaming globally. And Mariya Takeuchi's entire discography whilst we're at it. Would you believe me if I told you that "Plastic love" wasn't the best song on her 1984 album Variety? Bitch. Mariya. had bops for days.

Until that day comes, Friday night plans have a really nice "Plastic love" cover that's available on streaming.
