If we wanna talk pop stars who keep to their damn selves and just release shit with little in the way of announcements, then let's talk Sophie. Sure. Beyoncé may have decided to fuck all press junkets and disclosing album info more than a couple of weeks out from release, if that. But Sophie? A whole different level. It's not even that Sophie goes out of her way to not disclose anything. She often been pretty open about her music making process and what's on her horizon on the few occasions she's given interviews. It's the sporadicity. She might perform somewhere. She might tell you she's working on something. You might hear that thing she talked about. Songs just appear online and 'OH. Sophie produced it'. 'OH. A new music video'. 'OH. A gig'. 'OH. A bitch just released a remix album'.

The format in which Sophie operates is that there is no real format.

Sophie released her debut album Oil of every pearl's un-insides some-what out of the blue after what felt like forever in 2018 and a year later Sophie is like 'HELLO THERE DROPPING SOMETHING NEW' and then there's a remix album.

The non-stop remix album features remixes by Sophie herself in addition to a few collaborators. In many instances you could take this as a new album, as many of the songs have been completely re-worked to the point that they sound completely new. Half of the songs on Oil of every pearl's un-insides had little in the way of vocals or a standard song structure anyway, so you'd be hard pressed when listening to some of the remixes what they're even a remix of.

Sophie originally made the album available exclusively through her official website as a $285 clutch purse, which came with a physical copy of the original album and its remix variant. Only to drop the whole thing on YouTube as soon as they sold out.

Sophie is a bad bitch.

Sophie made sure to secure her coin from the gays first and foremost. I have to clap.

I'm sure at some point this album will hit streaming platforms. (I bloody hope that it does!) But until then, you can listen to the whole entire thing on YouTube via Sophie's official YouTube channel, where some lovely fans have kindly added time-stamps to the tracklist so you know what's what.

Shout outs to those outside of the US who paid for that clutch purse. Because bitch, that shipping cost.
