Namco does the Lord's work and releases the Tekken 1 - 3 soundtracks to streaming services (and dem other Tekken's too)
Namco Bandai have done what they shoulda done a LONG ass time ago and released the Tekken soundtracks to streaming platforms. Tekken is a series which is known for its soundtracks just as much as its gameplay style and its characters. So this release is long overdue.
I truly believe that Jun Kazama is smiling down on this momentous occasion.
The full soundtracks for Tekken 1 through to 7 are all available for streaming. However, the two Tekken Tag soundtracks are a no show, as is Tekken 5: Dark resurrection, Tekken 6: Bloodline rebellion and all of the music from Tekken 7. (The version of the Tekken 7 soundtrack which is currently on streaming features everything from the Tekken 7 soundtrack plus release, but none of the songs from the standard soundtrack). Why were these were omitted? No clue.
The Tekken soundtracks fell all the way off after Tekken 3, which still remains as one of the best soundtracks in the series. Tekken 4, 5, 6 and 7 have the odd gem. But as a whole, are pretty weak shiity; all of which are only memorable for being unmemorable, and not as good as Tekken 3's.
Tekken seeing the light of day on streaming platforms bodes will for other games in Namco's library getting the same treatment. I've placed my Tekken and Soulcalibur games in a prayer circle for the release of the Soul Blade, Soulcalibur and Ridge Racer Type 4 soundtracks. And I'd imagine there are Tales of fans who would love to see the long running RPG series to make an appearance on music streaming platforms too.
If you have an Apple account and still be using iTunes, Namco have a wider range of their soundtracks available for download. Classics such as Galaga and Xevious, a couple of the Ridge Racers, Taiko no Tatsujin, some of the Soul games and the Tekken game soundtracks which aren't yet available for streaming (Tekken Tag Tournament 1, 2, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection and Tekken 6: Bloodline rebellion) are all there.
