Kumi Koda's 9 single stretch and a new album RE(CORD), due in November

Kumi Koda's 9 single stretch and a new album RE(CORD), due in November | Random J Pop

Kumi Koda is still out here releasing trash with such regularity and consistency, that it's making me forget that she actually has good songs in her discography.

Every Summer Kumi Koda releases a Summer EP or does some crazy shit with singles. This year, she's releasing songs regularly on the run up to her upcoming album, but in no real pattern. It's not monthly and it's not weekly. It's not even bi-monthly. But so far, we've had "Eh yo!", "Summer time" and "Do me" (all released in July), "Goldfinger 2019" (a cover of the original Japanese cover of "Livin' la vida loca", which released in August) and now "Put your hands up!!!" in September. There's there's still another 4 singles to come and she's re-using the same damn promo shot for the cover art for all of these singles too.

Chile. The laziness. And I don't wanna hear 'But they're just digital singles tho', because a single is a single, and regardless of whether it's physical or digital, the cover art is seen in the exact same places online and on devices.

I'mma need artists to shoot their digital single covers accordingly.

Kumi also has a new album RE(CORD) due this year. Based on the title and her "Goldfinger" cover, I thought that this would be another cover album. But seeing as "Eh yo!", "Summer time", "Do me" and "Put your hands up!!!" will all feature on this album, it doesn't appear to be the case. Although, with her recent love of double albums, she could end up giving us a disc of original material and a disc of covers; the latter of which could end up including re-recorded versions of her own songs, to tie-in with what she's coined as RE(LIVE) shows for Black cherry and Japonesque.

RU(BBISH) is released on November 13th and will release in the usual 3 editions: Blu-Ray + CD, DVD + CD and CD only. My expectations are at zero.
