Hannah Diamond was one of the original PC music darlings who got put on the back burner, shelved, locked in the basement and sealed in a stainless steel compact; whilst A.G. Cook and co. started working with more established artists as a result of their name and their songs making their way to the surface of the mainstream. But Hannah is a photographer whose work features in publications, so she was still getting her coin.
Shout outs to the music artists who have another profession that provides a stable income.
Hannah Diamond is an acquired taste. Vocal talent? She don't have it. But PC music's music isn't about strong vocal performances. Look at Charli XCX. (No shade whatsoever). And PC music's whole thing is to mess with the conventions of Pop anyway, which was the whole deal behind shit like "Hey QT".
Hannah has a very particular type of sound, even under the the PC music umbrella. Every song of hers sounds like the retelling of a children's story. "Part of me" is literally a lullaby. With this in mind, it would be really interesting to hear an album from Hannah and the way in which it would be packaged. If an album ever comes out. Hannah has been talking about it forever. But with Charli XCX's album waving the PC music flag and Sophie having put her album out, maybe things will be a little easier for Hannah.
Who knows? She best stay with her SLR regardless though.
