Kumi Koda is starring in a TV drama. I hope she puts it down better on a drama set than she does in the studio. Because that music ain't been cute for a minute, save for the odd song here and there.
Kumi Koda makes a guest appearance in episode 6 of the Tokai and Fuji TV drama Rika, which airs on November 16 - the same series that her song "Strip" acts as the theme song for. This marks Kumi's first J-drama appearance in 8 years. I've not seen any photos from her having wrapped this role, but I hope she was awarded with a wine bottle in addition to the customary bouquet of flowers. Real ones know. I know y'all know.
Kumi's appearance in a J-Drama which features on of her songs, in an episode which airs the same week that her album drops is a very good look and should help her flog a few extra copies of RE(CORD) when it releases on November 13th.
I low key want the album to flop though, so that Kumi Koda is forced to re-evaluate her career choices and course correct her music. But a bitch won't if she hasn't done so by now.
