Mariah Carey has not only been the Queen of Christmas, but the Queen of Twitter, as she's essentially owned the entire platform for the month of December. Between her Christmas promo, having "All I want for Christmas is you" be her 19th number 1 single and THEN being the first artist to hold the number 1 spot in 4 consecutive decades, there was no escaping seeing Mariah on your Twitter timeline, whether you're a member of the Lambily or not. But then on New year's eve, Mariah was a worldwide trending topic. Not because of the green screen master piece that is the "Auld lang syne" music video, but because her Twitter account got hacked.
Whoever hacked her account made no attempt in their subtlety, and was steadfast in tweeting things which were clearly not from Mariah herself; including racist slurs, Snapchat screenshots of random people and a whole bunch of random ass links.
The tweets have since been deleted. But of course, there be screenshots.
I've chosen to create my faves of the hacked tweets in the theme of Mariah's albums. Because we like to keep shit on brand here at Random J Pop.
The following one tickled me, for no other reason than everybody claiming that Chamomile Caboose must have hacked Mariah's Twitter account to get back on her bullshit.
All of the offending tweets having since been deleted and Mariah has tweeted to let folk know that shit has been taken care of and the account is back under control.
