The bitches that everybody once loved and is now sick to the back teeth of are back with their
"Falling in love" is a nice song. I like that Teddy Park avoided drowning these girls in EDM or running them over with a Hummer truck with some faux hood nonsense. But let's all be real. Nobody is going to remember this song in a week. 2NE1 can perform this shit day and night on Inkigayo and have Yang Hyun-suk project the video 24 hours a day on the side of the YG HQ building and still, nobody will remember a thing about this song.
I disagree about the hood comment. This song sounds like it has the bassline of CL's The Baddest Female (which was a ratchet hood mess), but everything else is about right. This could have gone horribly wrong (*straight up glares at CL's solo*), but it was alright. I think Bom and Dara are fine as they are, as long as YG focuses on CL and Minzy. And I mean *really* focuses on CL and Minzy. Screw a CL solo debut, ain't nobody got time for that!! What we really need is a CL&MINZY debut. Minzy brings dem vocals, CL brings dem raps (not as good as Miryo or Tasha, but she's okay...), and they both can dance circles well enough (Minzy more so than CL, but both of them can dance circles around a lot of girl groups out there *cough cough*SNSD*cough cough*). Ofc, that would just rocket 2NE1 as a whole even farther into irrelevance, but #NoCareNoCare XD
ReplyDeleteRandom j your hater and you know it bom dara and minzy cl
ReplyDeleteIs and ways be 2ne1 hater
Peace
ReplyDeleteThe only lasting impression after watching this: what is going on with Bom's face?
ReplyDeleteTry to construct a proper sentence first before commenting, it helps.
ReplyDeleteThis.
ReplyDeleteLol, glad I'm not the only one who heard remnants of The Baddest Female in the song. At first listen I was like "Oh lord not this shit again", but I was pleasantly surprised. Falling In Love is a nice track. Not something I would jam to all day and night, but good nonetheless. I agree with Random J tho, it's all quite forgettable. Their presence this time around isn't as strong or appealing as it used to be. I think they lost their touch, but they got 3 more singles on the way, so we'll see.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe this is the song following "I Love You" and not in a good way. It could've been better, but it's just not memorable like you said and it doesn't make me "OMG" like their previous singles did. The hook was just there, and the only part I truly loved from this was Minzy's parts. I really hope this doesn't constitute a direction in their next album...
ReplyDeleteas much as i agree with you..SNSD have shown their dancing ability just look at the opening sequence in their "into the new world" remix the flawless nine got down
ReplyDeleteI love reggae 2ne1, but this just aint cutting it
ReplyDeleteLol not relevant.
ReplyDeleteTHE SONG IS OFFICIALLY ANOTHER ALL KILL ON THE CHARTS. None of your Kpop faves have had an all kill in years; CL did it with her solo song and a fucking month later with 2ne1.
I think it's cute. A part of me wants to call YG lazy as a mother for releasing some b-side they used as an intro for a comeback stage that happened a year ago (to a song is vastly superior, imo), but let's be real; Teddy is a shell of what he used to be (and we all know that dude had *everything* to do with this song) and YG doesn't need to try to make 2NE1 sell anymore. YG has WIN (their take on the Hunger Games, except with pretty boys), Kang Seung-yoon's debut (which is not really a debut since he isn't promoting the mini album), and his equally Hunger Games-ish debut of the formerly SNSD-like girl group. Forget about G-Dragon and Taeyang; those dudes can manage themselves (let us be real once more, those new albums from them will be nothing but a bunch of ego stroking #swagswagswag idiot tracks). I can excuse this track for being so typical, because it's meant to be a summer jam; those are hardly ever memorable. Hopefully the other three tracks and album (because a mini album with four promo tracks will make me fly to Korea and storm YG's office with a chainsaw >_>) will be more memorable than this.
ReplyDeleteBut CL's song tanked after the all kill...
ReplyDeleteThat shit is either a botox job, or an allergic reaction to her own mediocrity.
ReplyDeleteI just thought I'd throw in some shade to rile up the SONEs. I already have an angry Blackjack on my back (shout out to @Love_ 2ne1forever, you are my motivator /generic hater speech), so I figured I'd might as well get a few SONEs. I still think Minzy and CL dance circles around those tricks (can you imagine Minzy doing the IGAB routine?), but I love them with my errthang :3
ReplyDeleteThis.
ReplyDeleteminzy doing that routine would give me LYFE!!!
ReplyDeleteMinzy would snatch Hyoyeon's wig so fast, the girl would be robbed of her dancing ability for three straight weeks. All jokes aside, I hope we get a dance sub-unit out of SNSD sometime. I know Hyoyeon has to be tired of having no lines and no real dance moves. I remember reading somewhere that she was the second BoA (to be fair, with BoA's vocals being an acquired taste, I can see where that came from), but I have not seen anything to support this statement XD
ReplyDeleteWe all know that any popular idol group can get an all-kill nowadays since most of it comes from fandom power. SNSD's IGAB and CL's TBF got allkills from their fans, but they both underperformed because the general public hated it.
ReplyDeleteHyoyeon can't sing. Which makes her vocally on par with BoA. In terms of dancing ability, I'd say she was on a level with her > http://youtu.be/mmKG17DjeYA
ReplyDeleteKey word there being WAS. Her dancing seems to have gotten worse since that video was shot, something she's often admitted herself.
The routines she's made to do as part of Girls' generation don't showcase her dancing ability for shit. We got glimpses of it with "I got a boy", with her being the only member who was able to pull of that routine and not look entirely stupid doing it. But that's about it.
Teddy just needs to give it up if this is the best he can do from now on, cuz his productions just ain't cutting it anymore. And GD and Taeyang have just been so fucking embarrassing lately. That whole ghetto swag shit they are trying so hard to rep is not at all cute, they need to stop. But yeah I agree about 2NE1. After YG debuts the rest of his acts, I think there's a high chance that they'll be left on the back burner. Lord knows YG can't manage more than one group at a time for the life of him. Pity.
ReplyDeleteHyoyeon has a voice that's kind of like Dara's from 2NE1; it needs about 23948209348 overdubs to sound decent, but it's cute and I like it. I'm just weird like that XD And dang, she is werquin' that routine!! I honestly think she's wasted on SNSD; their routines are basic and she doesn't get any real screen time. We all know she's there just to add some credibility to the dancing department since we all know that she ain't a singer. I honestly think it's weird that someone like her is even in a band like SNSD; she has a rougher image than most of the girls (she was the only one, to me, who did the rapping in the Boys and IGAB justice, plus she isn't the typical kind of pretty you'd find in band like SNSD) and she could actually pull off the ghetto ratchetness mess that IGAB's style (which will forever slay me).
ReplyDeleteI'm actually wondering how he's going to handle all these debuts; dude can hardly have BIGBANG and 2NE1 promoting at the same time. It'd be a shame if the girl group (it amazes me that this dude still hasn't revealed the group name, but has already kicked one girl one >_>) and WINNER debuts both crash and burn (I'm not counting KSY in that, because he isn't promoting his mini), or if they got delayed. Lord have mercy if Akdong Musician don't debut till June of next year, because this dude forgot to prepare their debut promotions and what-not XD And I have long since stopped caring about G-Dragon and Taeyang's public ego trip; if they wanna ruin their reputations, fine by me. I feel like I'm in a bad romance; no matter how terrible YGe treats me, I still come back for more >_<
ReplyDeleteLol, same hear.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like Dara and Bom are there to experiment with looks and vocals that are going to be used for CL and Minzy after Dara and Bom conveniently move on to other projects. So they do serve a purpose. lol
ReplyDeleteIt still managed around 200k sales.
ReplyDeleteI wish that they used CL's part for an intro like they did on Inkigayo before they performed 'I Love You' :/
ReplyDeleteThis is just a tragic mess, like most of their songs. This group will always and forever be basic. No rapping, no vocal talent and no dancing talent as well.
ReplyDeleteMinzy's grandfather must be rolling in his grave, to soil the family name like that with her basic one two step. Blade runner has better dance steps. And that nigga has no feet
ReplyDelete1. Glad I'm not crazy because 2NE1 fans be saying Bom looks pretty and the only problem they have are the blue contacts and I'm like am I just being too judgemental because her face looks like a Meth Fire.
ReplyDelete2. Dead at Tragic Kingdom and Tekken Character select. They do look so awful.
3. I'm days late on the Girls' hate so I won't pounce like I ought to but note that your motivation is appreciated. Face looking like a table. Don't Cum.
I am EXTREMELY underwhelmed with this ratchet-magnet mess of a song. However, I'm assuming the other singles leading up to their next major release will be absolute bangers (they better be anyway) so I still have hope for 2NE1. Their last mini album was on point production wise. Musically speaking, I don't want the group to wander into obscurity.
