Jo Kwon is cast in the lead role of the musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie

Former K-Pop idol Jo Kwoncé Seouls Carter will be making his big stage debut in the South Korean run of the popular West End musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie. He will be one of four stars who will be cycled in the lead role, alongside NU'EST's Ren, ASTRO's MJ and Shin Joo Hyup. As soon as I heard about this, I was like 'Yep'. This is such a perfect fit for Jo Kwon who became far more popular for his for his diva mimicking antics on variety TV shows than he did for being a pop star. 90% of the Jo Kwon posts on this site were of him acting a fool, but still legitimately serving on TV shows.

When it comes to JYP, one thing he gets shit for is how he did Wonder Girls. Dragging his feet. Running "Nobody" into the ground and having that group go through multiple line-up changes, which isn't so salacious in K-Pop. But another group he really did wrong by was 2AM. He had a group of such charismatic and fun guys and just had them stuck doing ballads. He put so muh focus into 2PM as a result that 2AM just...dissolved.

Jo Kwon has stayed largely out of the idol limelight, with much of his connection to his fans being through social media. Chile, when idol fall out of K-Pop they really do fall all the way out of it.

Jo Kwoncé Seouls Carter  was such a talent back in the day and still remains so. So I hope this role sees him thrust back into the limelight, if that's something that he wants. I think he'd make a great Variety show host. He just has a great vibe and energy. It'd be such a waste to not channel that into some form of TV career.
