Kumi Koda will be releasing her 31st digital single on June 26th titled "Puff". Consistency between Kumi's song titles, single arts and the actual song has been...off to say the least over the past few years. And "Puff" is no different.
My initial reaction was that the song was about weed. Until I saw the single cover and thought it was about fucking ♪ I'mma puff puff on the dick ♪. But Kumi Koda herself has said that he song is a light-hearted dance pop song, and that 'puff' is in the context of having a shortness of breath. Apparently. None of which you would gather from the single art shoot which the image above is lifted from. But I guess the song could still be about fucking. Timely, given that social distancing restrictions are lifting around the world and people can get back to being hoes.
There probably won't be a music video due to the pandemic. Not that Avex would have given her any money to shoot one any way. But with Kumi Koda having sharing a bunch of home tutorials of how to do some of her dance routines, we'll probably get something similar for "Puff" too.
"Puff" is being branded as the '1st single of the 20th year', so we can expect more singles to follow, alongside some form of campaign and possibly a Best release to celebrate her 20th anniversary before the year closes out.
"Puff" will be released on all streaming platforms on June 26th.
Blackpink are releasing a song on the same day. So, Kumi hive. Y'all gon' have to put in some work.
