Jessica has been doing so much right with the roll out of her fourth album, continually giving the people content despite Miss Corona doing her best to stop it.
She announced that every song from What's Your Pleasure? would receive a visual, and at time of writing Jessica has already made her way through half of the album. The results thus far have been pretty hit and miss. "What's Your Pleasure?", "Soul Control", "Save A Kiss" and "Step Into My Life" got something decent. But "In Your Eyes" was a fucking mess, and quite frankly, so is this.
The ragged low definition quality of the shots. The harsh lighting. The footage of somebody filming through the back window of their Uber.
I-
Some creative direction and a good camera would have gone A LONG way. Just look at the visual for "What's Your Pleasure?". Shot in a hotel room with what was probably a crew of about two people. Camera quality. Good lighting. Aesthetic. On brand. On theme. A serve.
Jessie has no reason for this video looking this bad. Not between some of these great home shot productions we've been seeing over the past couple of months, and fan parody videos which have long been showing how to be creative at home on a shoe string.
The concept was nice and perfect for the song, but the execution was awful.
Jessie Ware has ALWAYS been about the visuals. Something that I don't think she's given enough credit for. From her looks, to her album covers to her music videos, Jessica has an aesthetic. So it's a shame to see it take a hit like this, even though she still tried to stick to the brief.
I really hope Jessie doesn't pull this shit for "Remember Where You Are", because I will not accept garbage for its visual.
