With "WAP" tearing up charts, upsetting people, having white men tell on how bone dry they keep pussy, I wanted to pay my respects to a pussy anthem which came before and was released in 2012, which is simply called "Pussy". Because why even try to give the damn song any other title when the song features the word pussy said 106 times.
The song is by Lady, who's gone Carmen Sandiego, because nobody knows where a bitch is now.
Unfortunately for Lady, "Pussy" didn't quite blow up as Cardi and Megan's "WAP" has, nor did it become a fixture in ratchet pussy anthems the way Khia's "My Neck, My Back (Lick It)" did. It's a downright shame, because this song is everything a pussy anthem should be, and is full of great lines that I desperately try to make a part of my everyday vocabulary.
Lady should have won a Pulitzer Prize for this song, for using the word 'thrice' in a song about pussy, let alone literary genius of the entire song. Your favourite author could never. And the promotion of sexual health with the line 'So fresh and so clean, I got that STD free pussy'?
Yes bitch.
It's never too long for a song to become a hit. Maybe one day the rest of the world will catch on. Lady was simply ahead of her time.
