The Streets of Rage soundtracks finally hit streaming | Random J Pop

Put on your white tank top, your pleather mini skirt, some roller-blades and bring the bluetooth speaker bitch. Because the Streets of Rage soundtracks are now available on streaming. Even Tidal bitch.

This has been a long time coming. A LONG ass time.

The Streets of Rage series is as known for dethroning many a side-scrolling beat 'em up, as it is for its soundtrack, which was revolutionary at the time. Streets of Rage 2 in particular has a soundtrack which was pretty unprecedented for a videogame at the time, both in-terms of sound and also technical quality. No game on the Mega Drive nor the Super Nintendo was able to match it. Even composer Yuzo Koshiro himself failed to better the soundtrack with Streets of Rage 3. And even all these years on with there finally being a Streets of Rage 4, the Streets of Rage 2 soundtrack is still the best and sounds as good now as it ever did. "Go Straight" will always be THAT bitch.

One thing I looked forward to when I bought Streets of Rage 4 was the soundtrack. And chile...the disappointment. Despite there being an option to listen to the retro soundtrack, the selections are so bad and make so little sense, that it's a pointless option. Why would you throw Game Gear renditions of songs when there were far superior Mega Drive versions of them in existence?!

Mess.
