I adore "December Baby". I truly do. It has the makings of a Christmas classic. But, this music video...December Baby, wha'chu doing gurl?
I get why some would love this music video. It's cute and it's charming. As a fan, it's great seeing JoJo have fun, enjoy herself and just have a music video out. Period. But I needed more production quality. At least when Mariah Carey did this home video shit for "All I Want For Christmas Is You" there was some brightness and clarity. JoJo's shit was so damn dark.
JoJo shoulda just gone with a classic vibe, and given me titties sitting nice in a sparky red dress with a white fur trim, whilst she sings inside a snow globe and sells me a full Christmas fantasy. And if JoJo wants to truly run with the whole shot-it-myself vibe, then she should kick off a "December Baby" TikTok challenge too.
The song is still great though. The inclusion of "Noelle" with Jacob Collier was nice and JoJo gets brownie points for the inclusion of Black Santa's.
