Music video: FAKY go disco with "The Light", but Avex still can't see it for themselves | Random J Pop

The J-Pop girl group who have been on the scene for 7 years and still have no full-length album out are here with their 27th digital single "The Light", which features as the theme song to the feature film Jukaimura. As with their previous digital release "Little More", the song is written by OG FAKY member Lil' Fang.

"The Light" is a cute song. But it suffers from the same thing that a lot of Faky's music does, in that it doesn't really tell you anything about this group. Every song that Faky has put out feels like it's trying to fit into something in that moment, but doesn't contribute to giving the group a musical identity as a whole. It's also a real shame that this song follows "Little More", which was one of the few instances where Faky really shone and stuck the landing on a style both musically and visually, and it felt right for the group.

I really don't get what Avex's deal is with this group at all. It's like they're just keeping them to say they have a non typical idol girl group on the label, but there's no real commitment beyond that being shown to them to make them big, successful or a fixture in J-Pop. How the fuck you gon' have a group out for 7 years with no album?
