This may seem like a weird post, but this whole damn blog is weird, and as the name implies, random. But I kept noticing that Kyary was posting about some brand called Nostalgia Syndrome and that she was posting about it WAY too hard for somebody who is just a brand pambassador, so I figured maybe she launched her own brand. And lo and behold. A bitch did. Kyary is out here being a business woman and shit.

Good for her.

Nostalgia Syndrome started off as a crowdfunded project, just for Kyary to test the waters, and she exceeded her target by 478%. Good shit. And due to the popularity of that, she wanted to see if the people would be interested in more, so she sought crowdfunding again, and then blew way over her target again. And with that she said 'Fuck it' and actually launched the brand proper.

Nostalgia Syndrome's marketing is...interesting. Because you really have to dig through the website to find any mention of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu at all. Comparatively, if you hit up fentybeauty.com, Rihanna is the first thing you see. Maybe Kyary wanted to detach herself somewhat from the brand, out of fear that people won't take the sophisticated branding seriously if she features in so much of the material, given the kookiness that she's known for.

We didn't even get a song tie in. Nostalgia Syndrome sounds like the kind of title Nakata would absolutely give a Pamyu Pamyu song and put a twist on.
