When Renaissoncé said ‘Got a lotta Tiffany on me’ in “Heated”, she was not lying.
Beyoncé and Tiffany are still in cahoots, having started their partnership back in 2021 with the controversial After Love campaign which controversially featured Beyoncé and her husband posting with a previously never seen before Basquiat, which OH-SO-COINCIDENTALLY happened to also be Tiffany blue. And now Beyoncé and Tiffany are it again with their new new campaign Lose Yourself in Love, which features visuals from Beyoncé and the use of her Renaissance album closer “Summer Renaissance”. We got a couple of videos at the top of September, which had the Beyhive wondering when the fuck they were gonna get Renaissance music videos. But this latest video has really riled the hive up. Because not only does it look like it’s cut from a music video, but it features everything that fans have been hoping to see from Beyoncé since Renaissance dropped. Her being a disco diva. Her giving a performance. And being in the midst of a bit of voguing.
A bitch even brought out the disco horse.
Billboard reported that this video is a teaser of the “Summer Renaissance” music video, which would make sense. The whole thing looks like a music video, and I couldn’t see Beyoncé going to this amount of effort and being around this amount of people JUST for a Tiffany commercial. But then again, I also could. So, I guess we’ll see.
Beyoncé looks great in the video. I can’t remember the last time I saw her being so free and just having fun. And despite the boss bitch persona that runs through Renaissance, Beyoncé seems so coy and shy in this video. We don’t get to see much of this side of Beyoncé. So when we do, it’s always cool, and a nice reminder that Beyoncé is not THE PERFORMER all of the time. She seemed to just be revelling in not having to be that person the whole time in this video, and it’s cool.
When listening to Renaissance, I strangely don’t have very specific images in mind for a lot of the songs, despite the vividness of each of them, EXCEPT “Pure/Honey”. And this is because the sounds and vibes are SO specific. “Pure/Honey” is ballroom, camp disco and drag queens. But with “Summer Renaissance”, every time I hear it, my mind projector just plays Donna Summer in space. But that doesn’t mean I’d expect that from the music video. Everything in this Tiffany video works for the song and does a nice job encapsulating the album as a whole.
