Fujii Kaze flips “You” into an anthem for the interracial lovers, with a feature from Umi

The music video for “You” had barely been out for 5 minutes and already we got a second one for a new version of the song which features R&B singer Umi.

I was so confused by the choice to have a raggedly Photoshopped image of Kaze and Umi for the single art, when the two of them met and shot the video together. Soooooo, a shot could have been taken of the two of them together for the single cover.

HENNYWAY.

Call Fujii Kaze Mr. Fantastic. Because he is stretching his shit all the way out for his album Prema, and I am enjoying it. I think this should be the move for Japanese music acts in Japan.
  • Singles and music videos leading up to the album release.
  • A single and music video during the pack of the album release.
  • A single and music videos right before the album tour kicks off.
  • A single and music video during the tour for the album.
And adding features to songs for singles is such a cool and easy way to help keep singles fresh, whilst expanding the reach for both artists involved. Fujii Kaze and his team are doing this shit RIGHT.

As for this new version of the song, I really like it. Having a female voice on the song [turns and looks into the camera] ✨colours✨ it nicely.

And Kaze has grown through his fried blonde, so Prema might be done now. But watch him go and drop a music video for “Okay, Goodbye”.
