So, here's something unexpected, but not that unexpected. JoJo teased a Christmas recording on Twitter. She hasn't said a damn thing about if there will be a Holiday album or if this is a one off song. All we know is that JoJo be recording Christmas songs.
Joanna. If you don't drop this fucking Christmas album this year, with this song on it, we might have to fight.
We know how shit can go. Nothing holiday themed from JoJo may even see the light of day. JoJo is one of those artists who is regularly up in the studio. So this could be nothing other than her teasing fans and acknowledging that Christmas is low key around the corner or just testing responses.
I for one hope that there is a JoJo Christmas album. It's a write of passage for every artist who can sing, and JoJo has a lot of lost time to make-up for. If Blackground records hadn't derailed her entire career and thrown it into Valhalla for a whole decade, she would have released one already.
Fans were concerned that a Holiday release would come before an original album of new material, and JoJo hopped into mentions to assure them that this wouldn't be the case. I would not be mad if it were. Dropping a Christmas album first would put JoJo to a much wider audience and help her establish a broader fanbase for a brand new album.
It's fucking JoJo. I'm here for whatever she releases, as long as she releases something.
