Somebody at Sony Japan actually cares and gives a damn and so does MiChi, because her albums are now available on all streaming platforms. Yes bitch. Even that nasty outdated looking ass Google one that Japan usually doesn't care about.
MiChi shared the good news on Instagram, where I rejoiced and let a bitch know that Up to you remains a masterpiece.
Unfortunately, none of MiChi's singles are available. So there's no "All about the girls ~Iijanka party people~" or Love is. But it's better than nothing.
It also means that there is absolutely no reason whatsoever as to why Crystal Kay's Sony discography can't be made available, given that MiChi's discography also sits with Sony. I guess MiChi's people just...bothered.
There's still no word on whether MiChi will return to music. It seemed for a while that she'd given up on it completely and never acknowledged the fact that she was once a recording artist with albums out until quite recently. It's very plausible that she truly did fall out of love with music and detached herself from it, because of the business side of the industry getting in the way of the artistry and just making music - which is a very real thing. Especially when you're signed to the second biggest label in the world. And much like Crystal Kay, she probably had to contend with the whole 'not quite Japanese looking enough' bullshit.
But as of late, MiChi has been regularly posting covers and looking back on her days as a Pop star with fond memories; so music is still something close to her heart - which is honestly enough for me. If she decides to release new music, great. If not, then between Up to you and Therapy, I'm good.
When MiChi called music quits, she headed off to the US, where she's been living ever since. But she recently moved back to Tokyo. So watch this space. It's probably just to live more life and be closer to friends and family. But if she happened to just hit the studio with T.O.M seeing as she's in the area then...
