La Roux has set a date for the release of her third studio album. Five whole damn years since the release of Trouble in Paradise. Between that album and its singles flopping like James Charles' wrists, and the fallout result in her splitting with her partner in crime Ben Langmaid (who was actually the second member of of La Roux) I thought that she'd call it quits, and she almost did.
But here we are. With a third album on the way.
La Roux's third studio album Supervision releases worldwide on February 7 and will be her first release through her own independent label Supercolour records, after parting ways with Universal music.
Elly Jackson (now La Roux herself following Ben's departure) had revealed earlier this year that there would be a new album and that it'd feature 9 tracks. I don't know what the fuck happened to that ninth track though, because...
- 21st Century
- Do you feel
- Automatic driver
- International woman of leisure
- Everything I live for
- Otherside
- He rides
- Gullible fool
A five year wait and we get 8 tracks. I don't know why I'm even making a point of this. My J-Pop listening ass be dealing with artists releasing 8 singles over the course of a year, then dropping an album where only 4 songs are new. This is kinda plenty.
La Roux will also be embarking on a European and North American tour. You can catch all of the dates below, which are followed by a link to La Roux's official website where you can purchase tickets.

Dazed recently did an interview with La Roux, which covered what we can expect from this new album, what happened in-between albums and why we got such long gaps between them. It's a really great read which gives in insight into an artist who hasn't always given much in the way of her process or her life in general. I would definitely check it out if you're a person who often finds their creativity impeded through no fault of their own, suffers from self-doubt or somebody whose passion for their craft is often misunderstood - as it covers all of the above and then some.
