The sounds of souls and swords finally hit streaming, with the release of the Soulcalibur soundtracks.
Soundtracks to Japanese developed videogames are slow on the uptake when it comes to appearances on streaming services. BIG SURPRISE. So, of course the 23 year old Soul series has only just had its soundtracks released to streaming.
But (of course there's a but) as was the case when the Tekken soundtracks first hit streaming, we don't quite get everything. The full soundtrack for the first Soulcalibur game is present and well, but we only get the arcade soundtrack for its predecessor, Soul Blade - so we get none of the PlayStation exclusive arrangements and the kick ass into song "The Edge of Soul". And oddly, Soulcalibur II, III, IV, V and VI's soundtracks are only available in EP form. I'm sure the full soundtracks will be available in time, but it's odd to only release them in EP form in the first place.
⚠️ At time of writing, the metadata for the Soulcalibur soundtracks is janky, so they may be hard to find on Spotify, which is probably one of the least search friendly streaming platforms of the bunch. Of course, with Google being the boss bitch of the search, they're easier to find on their services.
