Kylie Minogue is set to make her comeback with a brand new album titled Disco in November, and it's...a Disco album. If there's one thing to be said about Kylie is that she loves hopping on a trend. When every white artist was reclaiming their whiteness, she did Golden, now that Disco is making a strong chart revival, *Gestures*
Disco is preceded with the single "Say Something", which is a cute song with a nice message which feels very relevant for now. But it's not the big single that I feel Kylie needed. Then again, Kylie releasing middling lead singles has been her thing for the past few years.
Kylie would have been better off releasing this during Pride month. It would have impacted better.
The music video is very in keeping with the look of the album cover, and what you'd expect from a Kylie visual for a song lifted from an album called Disco. But it does feel more like a tour backdrop visual than a music video. Still. Kylie's lead singles haven't done much for me since Fever's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head". So let's see what the follow-up single and the album say.
