Kumi Koda talks about stuff and performs an acoustic version of "Ai no Uta" | Random J Pop

There are no subtitles on this video and I don't understand Japanese, so I can't speak for what is being said in this video. But what I can tell you is that it includes a short acoustic performance of "Ai no Uta". Kumi KOVID has given us some doo-doo over the years, and embarked on a tour that never shoulda taken place during a pandemic - so it's nice to have a social distanced performance of a good song.

I don't think Kumi Koda was fully prepared for this, as the performance seemed impromptu, or at the very least a last minute thing that there wasn't a full rehearsal for - but she still sounded decent. The singing technique was questionable, as homegirl was FIGHTING to get some of those notes out when she shouldn't have been, and she sounded strained.

Kumi Koda really followed Ayumi Hamasaki down the rabbit hole, huh. Because Ayu is another one who over the years has developed a pretty bad singing technique which makes her voice sound far worse than it actually is. Now here's Kumi in the same damn boat.
