Ayumi Hamasaki has finally released the music video for her digital single "23rd Monster", which released back in April. And just as the song sounds like it's old as hell, the music video looks it too - but I mean this in a good way. Everything about this video feels like a classic Ayumi Hamasaki music video. It's been a minute since we got an Ayu music video that looked like it had some budget put towards it. I guess Avex were feeling generous.
Sure, the music video is basic, and we've seen some of these setups before. We got dark skies and dirt in "Dreamed a Dream", "Startin'", "Step You" and "Because of You", and men writing around Ayu in "Brilliante". But "23rd Monster" got the visual it deserved.
