Chloe is making headway with her solo career, being two singles deep and with an album on the way. And whilst Halle’s solo releases are a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYS off, that’s not stopping her from working on some shit. And in a move which is either genius, or the worst thing ever, she’s sharing snippets of these sessions already.
The couple of bits that Halle had shared in the past were pretty ambiguous. We got one part of a song which...didn’t do much for anybody. The song and accompanying video was some Sandals commercial type shit. Another clip was just vocal layers of harmonised ooooh’s and ahh’s. But this time we got something fuller. We got music. We got vocals. We got a whole verse and what sounded like a hook.
And y’all.
It’s sounding fire.

Halle said ‘I don’t know what my sis is doing. But we doin’ R&B ‘round here’. And she posted it out like it was nothing. Unaware that the whole of the Internet was gonna fall in love with it and make demands for its release.
The Internet loved what they heard and blew up Halle’s mentions so bad, that she had to put out a PSA, letting fans know that her solo material was a ways off from coming out, which was always a given. Halle will not be releasing anything until Chloe’s solo album AND The Little Mermaid is out, and doing its thing. Which means we ain’t getting shit until 2023, the earliest.
And there are ZERO details on Halle’s album. We don’t even know if she’s working on an album yet at all. It seems like she’s just in the studio and playing around with things, as many artists do all of the time; particularly those who are songwriters and as involved in the creative process as Halle is. We’ve seen many a clip of Chloe working on stuff for the fun of it. And Mariah’s always in her studio working on stuff. It’s how it be.
Halle gave me more in 30 seconds than Chloe has given me with two whole songs. I pray to Jebus that “Back and Forth” doesn’t go unreleased.
