So, Crystal Kay will be doing her Billboard Live Christmas gigs — with 2026 marking Crystal’s 6th year of doing them. She is basically a Billboard Live employee at this point. Get money bitch. But her team still isn’t giving her the budget to do shoots to promote these gigs. They had the budget to fly a bitch to Korea to shoot a music video with a production company who has shot music videos for some of the biggest acts of SM, JYP and HYBE, but couldn’t cough up some yen for a backdrop and somebody with a Nikon?

I am extremely happy that Crystal Kay is getting annual payments from Billboard Live and an outlet to perform along with it. These Billboard Live gigs aren’t nothing. Many big acts — both national and international — and prestigious names in music perform at Billboard Live. But I need to see Crystal’s team branch this shit out into more gigs. It makes no sense that Crystal was able to do a whole-ass North American tour — off the back of her Sony catalogue, mind you — but has not done a Japanese tour in over a decade. Even if Crystal and her team do not feel confident booking large venues for a tour, they could just book smaller venues and have Crystal do a lounge tour to test the waters of demand and build up from there. Obviously, many of us fans wanna see Crystal at the Tokyo Dome and shit, and I’m sure she’d love to play there solo some day too. But we’re never going to get closer to this being a reality if her team does not try and inch her towards it. Keep doing these Billboard Live gigs by all means. But do stuff in addition to it. Crystal needs to be headlining her own tours in Japan. Not just popping out to perform “Koi ni Ochitara” at LDH EXILE youth charity events in the Spring and then doing Billboard gigs at the end of the year.
And with these Billboard Live gigs being a thing at the end of the year, Crystal’s team needs to line up her music releases to coincide with them. Crystal has been doing these Billboard Live gigs for 6 years now, in which time she has released no Christmas singles and no follow-up to her 2007 Christmas EP, Shining. We’ve not even gotten a new studio album in these 6 years.

Hopefully we’ll get filmed footage of this show. And not some chopped up highlights reel like we got a couple of years ago. I either want THE WHOLE show or at least to see the full performance of one song, and it best not be “Koi ni Ochitara”.
HENNYWAY.
Links to tickets are below. The Billboard Live website is horrid. It’s like they don’t want you to find tickets to anything.
