Kylie Minogue joins the MCU (Madonna Confessions Universe), with an appearance on Madonna’s “Love Sensation”

When “Love Sensation” was first released back in June, my first thought was ‘This sounds so much like a Kylie Minogue song and she needs to be on a remix of it’. And I wasn’t alone in this, as many felt the song was also reminiscent of Kylie. I even made a mashup the following week — throwing the vocals of a Kylie song over the beat of “Love Sensation” — just to feed my own curiosity and give myself (and others) SOMETHING.The Kylie of it was a hot topic online, which was made even hotter by Madonna stan accounts tweeting that a remix of “Love Sensation” with Kylie would release in August. Now, I’m only on the fringes of the Madonna fandom. So I don’t know which Madonna fan accounts are usually legit with info and which aren’t. And it doesn’t help that so many fan accounts regularly make stuff up in the hopes their fibs will gain traction and get them the engagement that they [turns and looks into the camera] ✨ crave ✨. This whole thing about Kylie being on a remix was something I kept seeing. But with experiences on social media apps being algorithmic, it’s hard to tell whether what you’re constantly seeing is because of genuine volume and frequency or just the algorithm. But when a BBC special on Madonna and Confessions II released and Kylie Minogue appeared in it, this Kylie theory began to look like it could be legit.
Kylie being featured in the special at all spoke volumes. But when the topic of the album featuring something with Kylie came up, the reaction from Madonna and Kylie all but confirmed that they had done something together. Confessions II released the following week. There was no Kylie. But the rumour was that she’d be on a remix anyway.
And then weeks later. It happened.
During Madonna’s performance at WorldPride Amsterdam, she stood on the stage with her arm outstretched like Thor and Kylie flew into it like Mjölnir. And then they performed “Love Sensation”.Kylie Minogue is officially a part of the MCU (Madonna Confessions Universe).
I always liked “Love Sensation” off of how great the production was and how catchy the song was. But it did feel like it was lacking in something. And the inclusion of Kylie definitely adds that something. But I don’t really like the Afterhours remix of the song, because it strips out the elements of “Love Sensation” that made it feel like Kylie. And whilst the Afterhours Radio Edit features the original “Love Sensation” beat, it’s not exactly the same — it’s been tweaked and mixed differently. And with it being a Radio Edit, it cuts down the song by removing the bridge section, which is one of the coolest parts of the song.
Still. It’s good to have a song out with Madonna and Kylie. Something fans of both had been willing into existence for the longest time. And now it’s here.
