With the release of the 25th Anniversary edition of Glitter on the horizon, Mariah has released a second remix — this time of the Rick James penned “All My Life”. And the remix comes courtesy of Channel Tres.

A lot of fans don’t like this remix and I get why. But, I like it. Unlike the Rohcelle Jordan remix of “Didn’t Mean to Turn You On”, everything here sounds like they’re in the right keys and mixed by somebody with a good ear. The Channel Tres remix of “All My Life” would have made a good single. It’s a shame that Mariah’s team didn’t send it to radio or try to push it, even a little bit. UK radio really woulda eaten this up. And with Mariah having announced that she will be doing Christmas shows in the UK this year, serving this song to UK radio would have made even more sense. But, irregardless — this remix is going straight to the top 10 on the H&M Hot 100.

The handling of the Glitter 25th Anniversary edition rollout has become a hot topic amongst the Lambs, and they are fighting. Some lambs are complaining that the rollout is really shoddy. Then other Lambs are taking these very valid complaints and saying shit like this…

Now lemme say this. From what I have seen, the fans that this fan is speaking of are not demanding that Mariah promotes this album as she would a new studio album. They just want some care shown for the rollout, and I’m 100% with them on this one. Because the Glitter 25th Anniversary has been shoddily handled so far.

The Rochelle Jordan remix of “Didn’t Mean to Turn You On” didn’t really hit the way it should have, partly because the mixing is so raggedy. The song has so much potential to be puss, but it’s just not pussing at the puss level at which it should be pussing. The PowerPoint lyric videos are awful. And why are the lyric videos and single artworks not featuring the Glitter fonts and branding? The original release of Glitter is still absent from streaming. I get that the anniversary release will be the big ‘IT’S BACK’ moment. But withholding the original 11 tracks of the album from streaming for all this time just because of the anniversary release is strange. And then there was a period a few days ago where the listing for Glitter on streaming had “Didn’t Mean to Turn You On” listed with the title ‘Track 4’. And as we all knew was gonna happen, the Mariah Christmas promo has taxied right on up onto Glitter’s runway. It’s a mess.

And if we really wanna talk about it, Mariah’s album rollouts have been a type of shambles since E=MC² anyway. So demanding a rollout of new studio album proportions wouldn’t mean much for Mariah anyway. The rollouts for Caution and Here for It All were terribly handled.
