Those of you who have been following Jessie in the UK will have heard of this song a year ago under the title "110%". And may also be wondering why the song title has changed. Well, the story is that due to a sample clearance issue, the song had to be renamed and re-worked for its US release with a new sample. A new sample of which sounds more or less the same as the old one, just dropped a pitched lower. Don't ask. I have no clue.
"If you're never gonna move" preceded the release of Jessie's US EP of the same title. I love this song, but I don't think it's the best showcase of Jessie. Many may dismiss is as a UK budget version of Kelis' "Millionaire" without an eminent hook. Although on the other hand it could work well in Jessie's favour of being such a slow burning song with a banging beat and a slick vocal, which is what made me fall in love with it. And as it stands, if you like the vibe of this song, then you'll pretty much like the rest of the EP and Jessie's full length debut Devotion - which is currently available in the UK and is scheduled for a release in the US later this year.
In case this song never caught your attention, I never end up blogging on this woman again or I get run over by a bus and die - check out "Wildest moments". It's a beast.
