Janet Jackson releases her Control remix album to streaming on the downest of lows | Random J Pop

Janet Jackson is a sneaky bitch. When it comes to her titty, she devotes an entire half time show to it. When it comes to her music these days, she's as quiet as her vocals.

Janet Jackson released Control: The remixes to streaming a good few weeks ago, unannounced, on the downest of lows. Some may ask why anybody would make a song and dance about the release of a 30 year old remix album. But why not!?

Referring to this album as a remix album was a tad misleading on A&M's part. But the label had to sell copies of it and they weren't gonna do that by calling it 'Control: The extended mixes and music video versions of the songs'. This album felt like it was a promo release mainly for radio stations and DJ's as opposed to a public release. But it was still welcomed, as this album featured several of the sought after versions of the songs which featured in the music videos all together on one release. I could barely listen to the album version of "The pleasure principle" after hearing how the song got tweaked for the music video. It's a reminder of Janet being one of the pioneers of the music video edit of songs. Long before all these pop hoes started doing, Janet done did it. Miss Jackson was out here releasing a song and then giving us a music video which featured a whole bunch of additional edits, transitions and dance break sections which weren't on the single release or the album; something which has since become a regular thing in Pop.

So, this album isn't the biggest of deals, but I'll take my Janet fixes where I can get 'em. Even if I do already own this release on vinyl, it's great to have it available on streaming. And I'm all for complete discographies being made available. It would actually be great to have a new remix album from Janet, seeing as new music ain't coming any time soon. It'd probably be a logistical nightmare with Janet's music being spread across multiple labels, but I'm sure something could be worked out and, that Janet has enough of her ex-husband's money to make what needs to happen, happen.

There's still no work on whether MC Whisper will give us a new album, but at this point I'm done wondering or asking. We honestly don't deserve anything new from Janet after we let "Rock with U" flop. Janet gave us one of the best singles she'd released in years and we left it to flop.
