This is a bit of a weird playlist. Because what we have here is a playlist which covers the Sugababes career up to their 6th studio album Catfights & Spotlights, so we've got three Sugababes line-up's worth of material - but the original line-up is on the playlist cover art.
I tried to spread out the original Sugababes' material across the playlist as best I could to keep that line-up as present throughout the playlist as possible. There is no Sweet 7 here, because that album was trash and that line-up was not the Sugababes. In all fairness, even if Keisha was still a part of the group when that album came out, I still wouldn't have included it, because that shit didn't even sound like a Sugababes album. Real ones have the Sweet 7 album sampler which had half the songs and Keisha on them. Still trash. And to make it worse, Jade sounded better on most of the songs.
I ain't got nothing against Heidi... (Wait for it...) BUT how did she manage to stay as the Michelle of the group throughout two line-up changes? Even with Mutya and Keisha gone, she was STILL the Michelle of the group with the smallest parts on songs!?
Gurl.
If you're new to the Sugababes, start with this playlist. And there are many great songs the girls did besides what's included here, so be sure to dig into the albums too.
Whilst "About you now" was a UK number 1 hit for the Sugababes, I didn't include it, because it was produced by Dr. Luke and I'm not trying to give him streams after that Ke$ha mess. This also means that there is no "Surprise (Goodbye)" - a song that I really fucking liked back in the day.
