Y'all remember that Christmas song that JoJo teased on Twitter back in August? A bitch only went and dropped it out of nowhere on the DL with a full blown video.

With JoJo going ahead with "Joanna", "Sabotage" and talking prepping a follow up to 2016's Mad love album, I figured that we wouldn't hear this Christmas song in full until 2020 or possibly never.

But here we are. "Joanna" in October. "Sabotage" in November (I know it was October 25th, but fuck it. Let's just say Novemner). "The Christmas song" in December. JoJo better WORK and give us monthly music.

We do not deserve.

JoJo had performed "The Christmas song" exclusively for R&B music blog That Grape Juice 7 years ago as some festive promo for Agape which she'd just release at that point. So it's nice to hear the changes in JoJo's approach to the song and the growth in her vocals. At this point, I think I want JoJo to re-record Can't take that away from me and Agápē. Fuck it.

Don't bother searching for "The Christmas song" on Apple Music or Spotify, as it's only available on Amazon. If going this route secures her more coin, then cool. But it is a shame that it's not available on all streaming platforms, because it's a great take on a Christmas classic. Coincidentally, Mariah Carey has also release a lil' Christmas s'um exclusively to Amazon. So I guess they be running them high figure cheques.

I still want a Christmas album though. Maybe going with just one song allows JoJo to gauge reactions and see if there is demand for an album. JoJo should just release one anyway. For no other reason than her middle name being Noëlle and making that the title of the album.

But as a fan of JoJo and Christmas songs, I'd just love to hear JoJo sing Festive classics and try her hands at some originals. Christmas albums aren't the 'Ooo gurl, really!?' releases and dirty contractual obligations that they once were. Mariah Carey shattered all that shit 25 years ago. So I hope a Christmas album is something that JoJo seriously considers.
