JoJo to release an acoustic version of her album Good To Know on July 10th | Random J Pop

JoJo's shit is finally together. She is getting promo. She has put an album out. She is releasing music videos. She is doing live performances. She's got an upcoming world tour. And it don't stop. Because JoJo has announced that an acoustic version of her fourth studio album Good To Know will be releasing on July 10th.

There's no word on a tracklist and if we'll get an additional song or two, or if this will be a case of the same vocals from the original release of the album set to acoustic arrangements. In regards to the latter, I can't imagine JoJo not laying down new vocals. This is the same chick who re-recorded her first two albums in their entirety and takes any reason and excuse to be able to sing.

Releasing an acoustic version of an album is such an unexpected, but really cool thing to do, which hearkens back to the days of MTV Unplugged. I wish acoustic versions of albums were more common across the board, then again, not everybody sounds good enough to hold an entire song backed by nothing but a guitar. My only complaint against this release from JoJo is that maybe it's too soon. It woulda been nice to have spaced it out, maybe drop it in the midst of her tour, or after it. But I guess given the current climate, everybody is like 'Fuck it, just put the shit out'. Hopefully JoJo has more releases of Good To Know up her sleeve. I could definitely go for a Good To Know remix album. Especially after the bangin' Hoodboi remix of "Man".
