Mashup: Mariah Carey featuring T-Pain x NewJeans - Candy Bling

A pile of colourful floppy discs. With one pink disc with a label on it—featuring the cover art of my Mariah Carey x NewJeans mashup. The cover art of which features a packet of Chips Ahoy! cookies, except with the name of the cookies are Candy Bling. And the packet features a picture of Mariah Carey at a Halloween party, wearing an outfit with cookies stuck to it.

As is always the case with my mashups, and idea came to me, which just happened to be slapping Carey’s “Candy Bling” over NewJeans’ highly inappropriate-for-their-ages-at-the-time song, “Cookie”. But not just the album version of “Candy Bling”. But the remix with T-Pain.

Angels Advocate. IT LIVES. Kind of.

It’s strange hearing a version of “Candy Bling” without that strange volume increase which occurs at 3:07. I actually had to adjust the volume in the vocals to keep them level with the rest of the song.

“Candy Bling” is the best song on Mariah Carey’s album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Yes it is. It really is a shame that all that album is known for is the song “Obsessed”. And I wonder how many people even know what album that song is from. Terrible promotion of Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel aside. Something I have realised over the years, is that casual knowledge of Mariah Carey albums is pretty bad.
