Mariah has been doing the absolute most with the promo for the 25th anniversary release of her first Christmas album. THE FUCKING MOST. And I'm here for every piece of it. But she has not forgotten that she has other albums in her discography that fans want.

Mariah a moment out of her Festive promo to reflect on the Justice for Glitter movement in an Instagram post, informing fans how much it meant to her and that she is indeed working to get the album up on streaming.

This is great news, as fans (me included) have long been wanting Glitter to be available on streaming services globally (some countries have always had it). Mariah's discography spans almost 30 years, so there's a lot of material, an done would think the omission of an album wouldn't matter. But when your albums are as iconic as Mariah's, it matters and it's noticeable as fuck. And given that there was so much drama around Glitter despite it's commercial failure, there was no hiding its absence.

It was easy to assume that Glitter being the one album which was denied a release on streaming services was because Mariah just didn't want it available because of the time it represented in her life and also because she probably thought fans hated it. We have to remember that the album came out at a time before social media, when Mariah could have immediate access to the thoughts and opinions of her fans. Given that back then she wasn't much of a touring artist and the album got caught up in the shit storm and critical panning of the film, of course she'd think everybody hated it. But Glitter was an album that many of her fans genuinely liked and still like. And because of the 'JusticeForGlitter movement, she know knows that.

It wouldn't surprise me if Mariah did a similar thing to what she's doing with her Christmas album and did a whole thing with Glitter, with full blown promo, cool social media activity and a lil' tour to celebrate it's release to streaming platforms. She'd be able to give the album the love she felt is deserved back in 2001 without the drama of the film and being in a place where she's good mentally and genuinely happy.
