The screenshot above is not raggedy because of my Internet playing a music video at the lowest quality or my dodgy Photoshop export settings. Nor is it a shot from an EDM video from the early 90s. It is a legit screenshot from Rina's music video for "Comme Des Garçons (Like The Boys)".

"Comme Des Garçons (Like The Boys)" did not deserve this. At all. I'm just-

To say that I'm disappointed with this video would be an understatement.

I can't even say that it looks like a lyric video, because some artists (see Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie"Victoria Monet's "Ass Like That" and Dua Lipa's "Future Nostalgia") be putting out lyric videos that look like whole music video productions.

Y'all. I really don't like this video.

The whole Y2K vibe would have been perfect for the remix version of the song, but not the original. We needed a slicker production than this and one which was far less random. This shit is like the Microsoft Paint of music videos.

Here's my music video treatment.

Japan in the 1980s. Rina in a full ass suit with a moustache in a disco with a troupe of male backup dancers of varied races, all in heels, dresses and manner of 'womenswear' serving a Ballroom inspired routine under a disco ball. Rina is serving face and beauty, but also whimsy. The whole thing looks like it's been shot on an old camera.

THE END.

Not perfect. Some may even call it trash.

But what this video definitely shouldn't have been is Rina serving awful looks in front of a green screen.

The YouTube comments on this video seem to show that the fans are living for it. And most of the comments are from Brazilian fans, so clearly the release of the remix with Pabllo Vittar did part of what it needed to do.

I'm just pissed, because if there was ever a song to cross Rina over and really bag her a hit, it was "Comme Des Garçons (Like The Boys)". And a great video could have done wonders in helping it.

Great song. Great single cover artwork. Trash music video.
